Model Mayhem down along with most of other Internet Brands sites

On November 12 Model Mayhem, along with many other sites owned by Internet Brands, experiences sluggish performance. The problem seems to be with the network infrastructure used by Internet Brands as the performance problems are not limited to Model Mayhem. As of early morning November 13, most of the sites operated by Internet Brands are completely offline.

  • Update 4: As of 2:50 am (-8 GMT) November 17, Model Mayhem is completely down again. (Back up again but timing out intermittently.)
  • Update 3: As of 10:20 pm (-8 GMT) November 16, Model Mayhem is completely down again. Check here to verify. (Back up again.)
  • Update 2: As of 5:30 pm (-8 GMT) November 14th, 504 gateway errors started again. Save all your important emails and make no changes to your profile. Model Mayhem is not working in parts of Bangkok, Chicago, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • Update 1: As of early morning November 14, Model Mayhem is back up and running.

Update 1: Model Mayhem has finally post some updates on their twitter account at http://twitter.com/m_mayhem. The relevant post are repeated below:

  1. Sorry for the problems, everyone. Network problems continue in El Segundo, making it hard to access several sites on the web, including MM.
  2. Model Mayhem update: Through a series of DNS attacks affecting several websites, the tech team is working to dig out from them. No ETA yet.
  3. The network between MM and the outside world was attacked. The tech team is working on fixing it.
