Hewlett Packard kills Windows 7 based Slate

HP has decided to abandon Windows 7 as the OS for their much anticipated Slate tablet and Microsoft has canceled it’s Courier tablet plans.

HP SlateIt’s turned out to be a busy month for Apple. In the span of a month, they have managed to roll out two versions of the iPad, initiate a criminal investigation into the lost iPhone prototype, and killed off two potential table competitors. HP has decided to abandon Windows 7 as the OS for their much anticipated Slate tablet and Microsoft has canceled it’s Courier tablet plans.

With HP’s purchase of Palm, there is still a possibility they may develop the Slate using WebOS but it’s unlikely the market can accommodate yet another mobile application platform in addition to Apple OS and Google’s Android.
