What is this? It’s a checklist, a guideline, a catalyst for agreement, a tool to avoid conflict.

What this is not. A contract, a replacement for good judgment.

How should I use this? It’s important to balance the need to protect your interest against scaring off potential collaborators.  Use good judgment and consider who you are dealing with. Someone with a good reputation working under standard guidelines often need very little paperwork to produce acceptable results. Unfortunately, those are in the minority. For informal shoots like most TF shoots, most photographers will refuse to sign formal written agreements. In such cases, the best practice is to ask questions and get assurances in informal emails prior to the shoot. Most conflicts can be resolved simply by pointing back to written documentation of the original agreement. Pick and choose the section that applies to you. Model Release/Image License (This section does not serve as a valid Model Release or Image License. Attach separate documents. Any terms in the Model Release or Image License will supersede the terms below)

Model Release

Image selection
